  1. Hi Heather,

I can see how this could really add that extra touch. I haven’t seen a lot of people do it, so that can also help you to stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for these step by step, easy to follow, instructions. You did a great job with the video. 😉 I love the way you introduce yourself, it always sounds like you’re holding in a laugh with a big smile.

    • Heather C Stephens says:

      Hi Susanna,

Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked the video! You really helped me get past my perfectionism streak with video and I thank you for that Susuanna!

I probably AM holding in a laugh with a smile since I’ve got my son home with me all day! 🙂 (Today, he’s dragging an extra mouse (one with the cord) around the house pretending it’s a puppy, yipping and barking in the background.)

I absolutely love that I get to build my business from home with him by my side, and even though my videos may be interrupted or you may see/hear him in the background, to me that’s the best part of this and something that I’m ridiculously grateful for and committed to helping other people get to do as well!

      I appreciate your comment!

  2. Nice step by step instructions.

I don’t use Outlook, but I do use Thunderbird which is very similar. With that tool I use an electronic business signature on all of my emails.

I must say, I do miss using Outlook. 🙁

    have a great day,
    Jerome Ratliff

    • Heather C Stephens says:

      Hi Jerome,

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment, even though you don’t use outlook! I really appreciate it.

I know not everyone uses outlook, so hopefully it will bring value to those that do, and remind those that don’t to add a signature with whatever email account/program they normally use.

  3. Hey Heather, nice concise video, great job! There were also some great tips for using MS word too 😉 Are you using Camtasia for your demonstration?

    • Heather C Stephens says:

      Hi Liz,

I’m glad you got some value out of the video. MS word is not my favorite thing to use, but I guess I’ve learned my way around. 🙂

I used Cam Studio which is a free version similar to camtasia for my video. and then I edited it in microsoft movie maker.

      Thanks for commenting!

  4. Hi Heather,

sound advice. It makes perfect sense to create an electronic business card signature. The benefits are obvious.

Nice step-by-step video, I agree with Jerome.

    • Heather C Stephens says:

      Thanks for your comment Oliver!

I didn’t realize the benefits until someone pointed them out to me, but having a great signature really can help brand ourselves, and make it easy for someone to connect with us online.

  5. Heather,

Great step by step instructions for such a wonderful idea that will increase branding and exposure for a site. Very high “cool” factor. Thanks!!

Glad you liked the idea and hope that it benefits you.

  6. Hi Heather,

Very quick and easy tutorial! I love step-by-step videos because you can pause them and apply each step as you go. I will definitely try this out.

    Thanks for sharing!

    • Heather C Stephens says:

      Thanks Ilka!

Let me know if you have any questions as you go through the process. Have fun creating your electronic business card! 🙂

  7. Hey Heather,

I really enjoyed this tutorial, thanks.

It’s another perfect demonstration of how simple things can make big differences.

I really liked how you conducted yourself on the video too – you didn’t let the distractions in the background bother you too much. I could tell you really enjoyed the company of your kids, and that’s what being able to work at home is all about.

    Take care,

    • Heather C Stephens says:

      Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the comment and the compliment on my ability to carry on through distractions. I was worried that it would be distracting to the viewers, but I also know that I’m a total perfectionist and if I didn’t just get it done, I’d never get it done. 🙂

Working from home is a gift and sometimes it’s challenging but I try to remember that this is what I want and I need to find the humor of it all and appreciate it.

      Thanks so much,

  8. Heather.. thanks for the great tutorial.

I don’t use outlook but after watching this video, I might just try it out :0)

    • Heather C Stephens says:

I would be LOST without Outlook, Hector!

I tried going without it when I bought my laptop, but couldn’t keep track of anything. It’s been so much easier for me to have it…plus it can sync with my droid so I have everything updated all the time, no matter where I am.

I’m not the most technical person nor the most organized, so anything easy to use that can help me keep track of my life is very appreciated! 🙂 LOL

      Thanks for your comment!

  9. good video Heather – easy to follow. I went through it once just to watch but I will go through again today or tomorrow and set up the card. I’ll let you know when I’ve done it.

    You have a great style
    all the best

  11. Hi Heather,

I really enjoyed your great video. You’re very good with videos.

Also loved how you switched to the mum role and still maintained a professional presentatation. Well done!

Thanks for sharing this easy to follow tutorial.

    All the best,
    Mavis Nong

  12. Heather C Stephens says:

    Hi Mavis!

Thanks for the compliment. It’s hard to be “professional” when working from home with little ones around. I’m enjoying the video side of marketing, which is very unexpected since I had such a fear of it to begin with. 🙂

I’m the living breathing real life example of “Try it, you might like it!”

Fantastic tutorial. I am having a problem though that you may be able to help me with.
When I type out my new email the signature shows perfectly, however when the person receives it only my picture is shown none of the social network images show up.
Is there something I am doing wrong?

  15. Thank you so much for the help with making an electronic business card. Who would’ve thought i’d need one….but i did, for an ad in a catalogue. You saved me from endless cursing and giving up. Yery simple instructions allowed me to do it in a flash.

  16. Nice one!
I remember this feature when I was using outlook. Lotus notes have their own ways of doing this. thanks.
