Here’s a list of the wordpress plugins I use on my blogs:

  • Akismet Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not.
  • All in One SEO Pack Out-of-the-box SEO for your WordPress blog.
  • Asynchronous Google Analytics for WordPress
  • Conditional CAPTCHA for WordPress A plugin that asks the commenter to complete a simple CAPTCHA if a spam detection plugin thinks their comment is spam.
  • Dagon Design Sitemap Generator Generates a fully customizable sitemap.
  • Google XML Sitemaps This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com to better index your blog.
  • LinkWithin Displays recommended stories and associated thumbnails from your blog.
  • MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer Saves your wordpress blog from getting tagged as ping spammer by installing this plugin.
    • cbnet MBP Auto-Activate Automatically activate MaxBlogPress plugins, without registering and without subscribing to the MaxBlogPress email list.
  • Ping.fm Integrates with Ping.fm’s Custom URL feature to collect pings and post them to your blog. By default, status updates are posted to a sidebar widget and blog/micro-blog entries become full-blown WordPress posts.
  • Ping List Checker A WordPress plugin which lets you check your ping list. It can be used to verify all domains in the ping list are unique and can also be used to test which sites are up and which are down.
  • RB Internal Links Link to other blog posts and pages without specifying the full URL. Uses a UI to ease finding the post or page you want to link to.
  • Relevanssi This plugin replaces WordPress search with a relevance-sorting search.
  • SexyBookmarks SexyBookmarks adds a (X)HTML compliant list of social bookmarking icons to each of your posts.
  • Simple Facebook Share Button Painlessly add a Facebook® Share button to your posts and/or pages.
  • StatPress Real time stats for your WordPress blog.
  • TweetMeme Retweet Button Adds a button which easily lets you retweet your blog posts.
  • Would Seth Godin Do Displays a custom welcome message to new visitors and another to return visitors.
  • WordPress.com Stats Tracks views, post/page views, referrers, and clicks.
  • WordPress.com Stats Helper This plugin helps you extract data from wordpress.com stats and use it across your blog.
  • WordPress.com Stats Smiley Remover The WordPress.com Stats Smiley Remover quickly removes the smiley face that WordPress.com stats places in the footer of your web pages.
  • wp-cache Very fast cache module. It’s composed of several modules, this plugin can configure and manage the whole system.
  • Yet Another Related Posts Plugin Returns a list of related entries based on a unique algorithm for display on your blog and RSS feeds.
  • YQL Auto Tagger Suggests tags for your posts based on semantic analysis of your post content with the Open Calais API.
