When I started this blog forum, I had no idea how much I would learn from the people who joined. I swear, in the last couple of weeks, I have felt like the floodgates are open and there are clever marketing ideas, answers, and exciting things I want to try, on every blog I visit.
I hope you’ve joined and are participating in all the goodness these amazing bloggers have to share. If you haven’t then I’m going to tell you right now, you are missing out on a ton of fun too!
But today’s post isn’t all about the forum, it is to highlight some of the top notch clever marketers in the blog forum who are helping me to spread the word!
Blog Forum Marketing Strategy:
It is also to give you a quick lesson on marketing strategy… LEVERAGE! You see, I knew that having a blog forum with no one participating would be the kiss of death for my blog and would erase any social proof that I had.
1. I went to my original blog tribe members and asked them to share in a testimonial how being part of a blog commenting tribe has helped their business. I shared their testimonials on the blog lead capture page.
2. The next step of my marketing strategy to get the word out about my new blogging community. I wrote several posts leading up to my launch, sharing the benefits of being a part of a commenting tribe commenting tribe.
3. Finally, on the thank you page after someone joined they were greeted with a message from me sharing that there are two additional paid levels of the community (Basic and Premium) that offer training and resources for bloggers. (I don’t think I approached this correctly and I’ll be sharing about that sometime in the future).
I told everyone that I would like to give away a lifetime membership for the premium level. Everyone who joined the community on or before March 25th would earn 1 entry into the drawing
Everyone who helped me to spread the word about the blog forum and mastermind community would get 5 more entries into the drawing.
They were to write a post about the benefits of a blog forum, why they joined, share a personal testimonial, etc., and then link back to my original post about the community with my desired anchor text blog marketing forum. And the final step was to post their link in the blog forum and start sharing the post with their audience.
Overall, I’m sure there are many areas where I could improve this–as it was my first product launch online–but I’m excited about how it went. After only 2 1/2 weeks we have over 225 registered members in the community.
