Hi Heather,

I can see how this could really add that extra touch. I haven’t seen a lot of people do it, so that can also help you to stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for these step by step, easy to follow, instructions. You did a great job with the video. ;) I love the way you introduce yourself, it always sounds like you’re holding in a laugh with a big smile.

Hi Susanna,

Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked the video! You really helped me get past my perfectionism streak with video and I thank you for that Susuanna!

I probably AM holding in a laugh with a smile since I’ve got my son home with me all day! :) (Today, he’s dragging an extra mouse (one with the cord) around the house pretending it’s a puppy, yipping and barking in the background.)

I absolutely love that I get to build my business from home with him by my side, and even though my videos may be interrupted or you may see/hear him in the background, to me that’s the best part of this and something that I’m ridiculously grateful for and committed to helping other people get to do as well!

I appreciate your comment!

Nice step by step instructions.

I don’t use Outlook, but I do use Thunderbird which is very similar. With that tool I use an electronic business signature on all of my emails.

I must say, I do miss using Outlook. :(

have a great day,

Hi Jerome,

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment, even though you don’t use outlook! I really appreciate it.

I know not everyone uses outlook, so hopefully it will bring value to those that do, and remind those that don’t to add a signature with whatever email account/program they normally use.

Thanks!

Hey Heather, nice concise video, great job! There were also some great tips for using MS word too ;-) Are you using Camtasia for your demonstration?

Heather C Stephens October 5, 2010 at

Hi Liz,

I’m glad you got some value out of the video. MS word is not my favorite thing to use, but I guess I’ve learned my way around. :)

I used Cam Studio which is a free version similar to camtasia for my video. and then I edited it in microsoft movie maker.

Thanks for your comment Oliver!

I didn’t realize the benefits until someone pointed them out to me, but having a great signature really can help brand ourselves, and make it easy for someone to connect with us online.

Hey Heather,

I really enjoyed this tutorial, thanks.

It’s another perfect demonstration of how simple things can make big differences.

I really liked how you conducted yourself on the video too – you didn’t let the distractions in the background bother you too much. I could tell you really enjoyed the company of your kids, and that’s what being able to work at home is all about.

Take care,

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the comment and the compliment on my ability to carry on through distractions. I was worried that it would be distracting to the viewers, but I also know that I’m a total perfectionist and if I didn’t just get it done, I’d never get it done. :)

Working from home is a gift and sometimes it’s challenging but I try to remember that this is what I want and I need to find the humor of it all and appreciate it.

Thanks so much,
Heather

I would be LOST without Outlook, Hector!

I tried going without it when I bought my laptop, but couldn’t keep track of anything. It’s been so much easier for me to have it…plus it can sync with my droid so I have everything updated all the time, no matter where I am.

I’m not the most technical person nor the most organized, so anything easy to use that can help me keep track of my life is very appreciated! :) LOL

Thanks for your comment!

Hi Mavis!

Thanks for the compliment. It’s hard to be “professional” when working from home with little ones around. I’m enjoying the video side of marketing, which is very unexpected since I had such a fear of it to begin with. :)

Hi,

Fantastic tutorial. I am having a problem though that you may be able to help me with.
When I type out my new email the signature shows perfectly, however when the person receives it only my picture is shown none of the social network images show up.
Is there something I am doing wrong?
Thanks,
